Lines Engineer - Overhead Lines Design

New Zealand's electricity grid is being transformed. The towers, poles, and conductors that carry high-voltage power across the country need to be redesigned, upgraded, and expanded - and that's exactly what our Overhead Lines team does.
We're looking for a Lines engineer to join the team. Whether you're a recent graduate keen to get stuck into real design work from day one, or a senior engineer ready to lead projects and shape how we deliver, we'd like to hear from you.
The work:
Overhead line engineering is fundamentally a structural and mechanical challenge - designing structures that safely carry high-voltage conductors across New Zealand's diverse terrain and weather conditions, for decades. You'll be involved in the full project lifecycle: site surveys, structural analysis and design, drawings and specifications, client liaison, and contract documentation.
What we're looking for:
A degree in civil/structural or mechanical engineering. Beyond that, it depends on where you are in your career. For graduates, we want curiosity, a practical mindset, and enthusiasm for the sector. For experienced engineers, we value proven transmission line design experience and the ability to mentor others and manage project delivery.

Summer Intern - Overhead Lines Engineering

New Zealand's electricity grid is being transformed - towers, poles, and conductors redesigned, upgraded, and expanded to meet the country's energy future. Our Overhead Lines team is at the centre of that work, and we're looking for an engineering student to join us over summer.
What you'll do:
You'll work alongside experienced engineers on real projects - structural analysis, design of towers and poles, site visits, drawings, and documentation. You'll get genuine exposure to how overhead line engineering works in practice and see how your university learning applies to major infrastructure.
What we're looking for:
You're studying towards a degree in civil/structural, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering - ideally heading into your penultimate or final year. You're curious, practical, and keen to learn.
